A former Head of Corporate Recovery at the General Manager level within a leading multinational bank, he has built a career defined by strategic depth, institutional credibility, and a proven ability to deliver results across complex financial environments.

Ismail Fahmy

Ismail Fahmy is a senior grain procurement specialist with over 35 years of experience across the MENA region, advising on procurement strategy, contract negotiation, and risk management in international grain markets.
He began his career in diplomacy, serving for ten years before transitioning into international banking at Crédit Commercial de France (CCF) in Paris. He subsequently joined Groupe Soufflet, one of Europe’s leading grain trading and milling groups, as Regional Director for the Middle East, where he led commercial activity and client relationships across key MENA markets.
Over his career, Mr. Fahmy has developed deep expertise in sourcing wheat and other commodities from major origins, structuring large-volume tenders, and managing price, FX, and freight exposures for institutional buyers. His combined background in diplomacy, banking, and commodity trading provides a distinctive perspective on cross-border transactions and stakeholder engagement.
He was appointed by the Prime Minister of France as Conseiller du Commerce Extérieur de la France for four consecutive terms, in recognition of his contribution to French international trade.
